Valéria majored in media - namely TV, radio, and film - in college. For her master's thesis, she and three colleagues produced a documentary shot on Super-8. When they got to the editing stage,the tape-cutter was nowhere to be found. Frustrated, she exclaimed "Goddammit! Where the hell IS that thing?!" After repeating the same exclamation several more times she got up and said to her friend Lavínia "Wait a minute, I'm having an idea, I'll be right back." She went to her room, grabbed her guitar, and within a few minutes the music and lyrics of Marcação were born.
